I've been working on few things recently, so I thought I'd stick them up here. The first started out simply as face practice. Then I kept going with it and I think it turned out pretty well. Oftentimes, though, I get to this stage in my painting and I don't know where to go from here. I'd love to add more detail and shading and stuff, but I just don't know what to do. Also, I came away from this one thinking that the character felt flat. I don't know what it is or how to fix it, but she seems flat. Is that just me, or is there something I can do about it?
The second thing I worked on was my fan art of 'The Flash.' I have to say that I'm really happy with how he's coming, even if I do say so myself. However, I'm afraid I'm again getting to the stage where I don't know what else to do. He looks pretty sketchy, and I'd love to fix that, but I just don't know how.
I have to say that I did trace the helmet and the face, but everything else was drawn from a reference, not traced.
Finally, I began a painting a picture of... well... this. I'm a bit of a writer, so a story started stirring in my mind when I drew that blue guy (last post) and the lady (this post). I thought that the bitter sweet story line of 'forbidden love' was interesting, so I tried to portray it. The Atlantis prince is supposed to marry Atlantis Royalty, but he falls in love with a human peasant (or something like that. It's kind of a reverse 'Little Mermaid' story). I used a google reference of a fish for the Atlantis Prince's anatomy, how do you think it turned out?
