I first came across CG art and animation through an old magazine called BYTE and remember reading about raytracing. Computers were new back then and I had cut my teeth on mainframes and mini systems. But it wasn't till some years later that I got into art as a form of therapy for myself. I fell in love with a whole new world of creative individuals which ultimately led me to do many new things I would never have done because art requires you to be an artistic scientist and explore the possibilities of your imagination in the real world. There are no boundaries and I love it. So I've being in and out of art school till I did an MSc Applied Imagination in the Creative Industries, at Central Saint Martin's where I ended up doing neuroscience and subliminal messaging as my research. Which led me onto becoming a Psychotherapist that now teaches neuroscience and mindfulness to people with drug and alcohol challenges.
So what I love about being mindful is that as busy as I am, I am so focused that I find I do have time to do nothing and everything at the same time. which is why I went back to 3DS Max last weeke to only find my license had run out and they wanted $200 a month in subscription fees. But believe me when I revisited blender a few days ago and found out it was even more awesome than I remember. I tried some youtube videos and struggled to follow what was happening. it was then today that I get an email telling me that my cgcookie account may be closed unless I logged in. So I did and found you guys.
So not only do I get access to an awesome forum, but access to so much training and support. I just rebuilt my pc a few days ago to put blender on it and decided that the tablet I bought for digital sketching should just be used for that, so I was pleased to see that there is digital sketching training as well,
But Christmas came early when I saw the sculpting training, I was drooling by this time as I had gone to clay modelling classes a few years ago and loved it, so I am looking forward forward for doing that course as well.
Ok am done, and it's after midnight, time to say goodnight to my cat and see you guys tomorrow.
