Holiday Dev Sprint
Starting last night, and going through the weekend, @gfxcoder and myself are holding a RetopoFlow dev sprint. Our goal is to finish v1.2.0 and lay the foundation for v2.0. @patmo141 has also been joining us online in the days leading up to this sprint.
We've already made great progress on v1.2.0 by fixing a bunch of issues and starting in on new features.
- Added 4k/Retina support for Help text
- Added support for patching alongside existing geometry
- Fixed selection colors for frozen (tweaked) geometry
And then the two big things in progress are designing and developing the new PolyPen tool and patch support for T-junctions. The PolyPen is a tool which I've been dreaming about for at least 8 years.
This will be a free upgrade for all existing customers, and is the milestone at which RetopoFlow should be able to be used for a complete retopology workflow from start to finish.
The details of this release are speculative right now, but we're laying the foundation for what may be the most significant RetopoFlow release ever. It will likely be a paid upgrade, discounted for existing customers, but nothing is concrete yet.
Looking at the whiteboard above, the big part of 2.0 is something I'll just call unification. The very bottom drawing is an additional hint.
The next few months should be very interesting
In the spirit of the holidays, I'd like to express my sincere thanks to everyone that has supported our efforts with RetopoFlow, in all forms. This add-on simply would not exist without all of your support.
