Ok, spent a few hours today plugging away. Found a fantastic tutorial where the person explained their step-by-step process for getting a color-id map into substance painter. So, I figured I would practice knocking out two birds with one stone, making my first house/building structure and becoming more familiar with color-ids, texture atlas, and playing with materials.
-How can I spread out my UVs so they arent so close together? The margins seem to overlap in the UV. I swear I saw some sort of thing that allowed all UV objects be spread apart without having to go in manually one at a time.
Also, i need to learn how to Unwrap better, the concept of smarly unwrapping hasnt (un)wrapped around my head yet...
Anyways, here is the fruit of today's labor.
Materials with applied to meshes and objects.
My trash UV / color id map
You can see the issue is caused by how thin the UVs are in the picture.
Just slapped some smart materials on it, I'm not at the stage to dig into designer/painter yet.
