Wow, I just finished my next material after going through a number of headaches. The material below is vinyl seating with embedded glitter. The most difficult part was getting the different specs of glitter to reflect light at different angles and making each one at slightly different depths.
Of course the best way to showcase this material is in a scene! I plan to have all of my materials used in this scene to demonstrate them. After all, who would buy a material from someone who does not use their own materials?
There are only two of my materials in this scene at the moment: the linoleum flooring and the vinyl seating. I also have my own special brushed aluminum material but have not applied it to the scene yet. All and all, the scene will probably have around 10 or so procedural materials. Once done, I will upload them to the market! But that's not all, I will also be including the entire 50s styled diner scene that my materials will be demonstrated in, no extra cost of course!
My favorite part about the vinyl seating material is that the glossiness can be toned down then one can adjust another factor to make a material that is a plastic with embedded glitter. Such a material can be scene on household appliances such as the plastic parts of a toaster. You can also adjust the color of the glitter spate from the color of the vinyl.
It took many many hours and some very late nights, but I think I will have this material completely done with the next two days, probably tomorrow.
Let me know what you think!
