I've slowed down on the more artistic stuff lately, because I'm working on web development more. I REALLY need the training! However, I miss Blender, so I'd played a little more with it.
I tried making a blanket using the cloth simulator...at first the soft body one for some reason. Well, it didn't quite work as I'd hoped. I also wanted to make a material where the red texture was shiny and the white part was not...that didn't work either.
Really, I want to make a plush looking comforter type of blanket, but I couldn't find a way how.
Ah well, trial 'n' error, cry 'n' terror! Oh wait...no, be positive.
I read about light portals--using area lights as "portals" to environment lighting...something like that. So I tried it on this room I'd worked on before. I put a light over the windows to see what I'd get. Kinda fun!
It brightens things up, for sure!
Well, I have yet to fancy any of my images up with compositing...it's still confusing to me. I was hoping to make this pic look even MORE glowy! However, I did learn about particle instances, and that's how I got the little balls to go with the big ones! I'm not even sure what I was looking for at first!
Anyway, I'm gonna try making yet ANOTHER teddy bear with fur of sorts, so there's that! I'm actually relaxing from a hearty supper that I made...mmmmm...roast chicken... drool
