So, I started with this:

Here, I stopped. ... This reminds me of something I made from clay when I was in 3rd grade (I won't say sculpt, it wasn't that sophisticated), or something I may have drawn in high school.
It's abysmal, and as a kid I would have been deeply discouraged by it. Today, I can see the potential in it. I won't return to this model, but I'll keep sculpting, because I know I can learn to do better.
Some problems: The limbs are pressed into the torso with no sense of joints. The basic forms aren't really present, especially in the limbs. There's considerable evidence of doodling, particularly visible where I used the clay strips brush. There's no gesture, no sense of depth; it may as well have been carved out of a 2x6" board.
On the other hand, this the first time I've used the clay strips brush, and I love it.
