Yes, Hands. Handy hands.
So I'm fast approaching a part of a model I'm making that I'm really not looking forward to. The hands. I've always sucked at drawing them, but luckily I got a sort of 'cheat' for it. A friend of mine sent me a high-poly human model for me to sculpt around, which is fine, but I couldn't really sculpt the hands. So, I'm approaching the detailing part in my high-detail retopo stage instead.
Basically, this model is for a game. The hands aren't going to do anything except ball into fists and grip guns/swords, etc. Looking forward, would it be safe for me to detail the thumb and first finger individually, then lump the last three fingers together in something like an armoured shell? Given this is my first time dealing with hands, are there any tips towards it I should be aware of, given they will be moving later on?
